SummerSaya Workshops

When we say summer, the first thing that comes up in our mind and especially to kids are beach, sand, resorts and of course swimming! But for the kids who would like to spend their summer vacay honing their skills and talents, they would be enrolling in different summer workshops.

With this idea, the Municipality of Baliwag together with the Baliwag Tourism Office conducted different kinds of summer activities and workshops for the kids not just to enjoy their summer vacation but to explore their talents and to boost their confidence. The dance workshop and voice coaching took place at the Baliwag Tourism office at the Lumang Munisipyo everyday from 1pm-4pm. The dance workshop was handled by Ms. Cristina Cordero, the very talented Dance Instructor from Baliwag Sports Development office while the Voice coaching was handled by Ms. Ma. Janine Vergel, a voice coach and a conductor of the Voice Mariae a well-known choir in Baliwag.

The workshop started last April 09, 2018 with 19 participants for Voice coaching and 20 participants for Dance workshop, with ages ranging from 7 to 12 years old. Different sets of songs and dances were taught to the kids which they performed for the opening of the “A Taste of Baliwag Bazaar.”



“This is my now” “Breakaway” “Torete” “Iduyan mo” “Roar” “Doo bi doo” “Shake it Off” “Sundo” “Fight Song” “Thank you for the Music” and “Awit ng Kabataan” were some of the songs that the Summer Saya Kids sang and performed during the opening of “A Taste of Baliwag Bazaar”.





While the SummerSaya kids dance workshop performed “Dying Inside” and some dance craze of 2018.

The performances of the SummerSaya kids went well and all of the parents were very proud as well as their coaches with the event and program that the Municipality of Baliwag served. They were interviewed by the Baliwag Web TV and gave positive feedbacks about the workshops. “Yung SummerSaya Workshop na imbis na yung mga anak namin (ay) mga nasa bahay lang mas natuto silang kumanta at at saka sumayaw at mas nagiging mas magaling yung mga talento nila” according to Mrs. Rachel Quizon, one of the parents of the SummerSaya kids.

“Mapalad tayo na sa bayan ng Baliwag, pinahahalagahan niya (Mayor Ferdie Estrella) yung talent ng mga batang Baliwagenyo. Marami tayong mga batang naturuan, kumanta ng maayos, magperform at higit sa lahat mawala yung mga hiya, matuto silang humarap sa mga tao. At the same time made-develop natin yung personality nila.” Ms. Janine Vergel the vocal coach of the SummerSaya kids.

Because of the success of the SummerSaya Workshops, Mayor Ferdie V. Estrella decided to create the Baliwag Performing Arts to further hone the skills and talents of young Baliwagenyos.

Watch out for the SummerSaya kids’ final performance on April 13, Sunday during the opening of the Everything Events at the SM Baliwag Mall Atrium.

Price ranges from 10 pesos up to 70 pesos per cup depending on the size and fruits that you would like to put in your halo-halo. there are kaong, beans, banana, langka and monggo and if you want to make it more special, you can add leche flan, ube, pinipig and ice cream on top of it!

And if you are looking for one of the best halo-halo in town you can visit Grand Delights located at Brgy. Makinabang. They serve different kinds of halo-halo, from your typical halo-halo they will turn it into a grandelicious halo-halo!

4. Be Productive!

Since we have a lot of free time during summer, why not spend it by staying fit and healthy. There’s a lot of activities that we can do in Baliwag such as sports, swimming programs and summer workshops..

Different kinds of summer workshops are also offered by the Baliwag Sports Development Office and Baliwag Tourism Development Office.

3. Instead of hayahay why not go hanap-buhay

For students, no classes means no baon (allowance). That’s why one of the best thing to do every summer is to find a summer job to have extra allowance during summer for your outing with friends. Since teens nowadays have different interests you can also choose a summer job that suits you. The Municipal Government of Baliwag offers different kinds of summer job such as researcher, encoder and many more. There are also a lot of fast food chains here in Baliwag that provides summer job, you can be a cashier, a crew or even help setting up their parties for children!

2. Hirit sa Tag-init

You’ll definitely say that “Summer has begun!” if you swim under the sun. The All-time favorite summer activity is swimming, either on beach or in resorts and for the Baliwagenyos who doesn’t have so much time to travel in different places to find a picture perfect summer getaway, good thing is that we have many resorts here in Baliwag that will give you an instagrammable summer! Small but Terrible! Ine’s ihaw-ihaw is located at J.M Basa St. Sto. Cristo Baliwag, Bulacan. They rent a small space inside the eatery of Lucky’s Place a compound that allows small stalls to sell foods and rent beside their eatery. Though it seems small, it is very affordable and their quality of ihaw-ihaw is one of the Baliwagenyos fave! Because of their special ingredients that they put in their inihaw, they say that once you eat Ine’s ihaw ihaw the only name you’ll remember is “INE”. The proud owner Ms. Elizabeth Espiritu just started the business last January 2018 but people around Baliwag are already a fan of her ihawan.

3. Ihaw-Ihaw sa Kanto!

They started the ihaw-ihaw business since 2006 in the management of Ms. Maria Luisa S. Consimino.

One of the reason why Baliwagenyos love this place is because of their good service and a very nice place. The first thing that we are going to look when we are about to eat is the availability of seats, that’s why Edsan’s is one of the Best Ihawan! They have a lot of space for their customers and they also have a good ambiance because of the colors and designs. They are located at J.M Basa St. corner P. Angeles Concepcion, Baliwag. Bulacan. The owner of edsan’’s ihaw ihaw Mr. Ed Sangalang is in the business of ihaw-ihaw since 2002 and keeps on giving quality service to his customers.

National Arts Month 2018
